The Stupid infected insist elite military multi-combat tour veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, and the young civilian characters who are thrown into the deep end of survival, must have no coping skills, because that’s what Hollywood shows in zombie movies and TV series.
Factoid: Military service personnel who served in wars and who do not utilize dark humor while trying to behave “normal” are the ones at high risk of suicide. It takes a certain mentality to emotionally and psychologically survive, despite how the civilian “civilized” society may view them, which causes enormous problems for veterans, and not something the Vikings or any other warrior culture experienced. (Combat vet Legionnaires experience it with the civilians of Ancient Rome, based on the historical descriptions.) This serial story will eventually, at an appropriate time, show no-coping-skills people who have physically survived but not mentally. They will never be among the major characters. The story, which is based on facts and plausibility—this really could happen—would be extremely dark and depressing if it showed such no-coping skills among the major characters. Go somewhere else for depression-inducement, or watch the American news!
Not only do the infected demand bogus Hollywood infantrymen, but they also dictate that multi-combat tour, elite military veterans, and the young civilians thrown into the life-or-death, kill-or-be-killed scenario show zero coping strategies. That sure would make a standalone, one-off novel, something else they emphatically dictated this book was, despite all evidence to the contrary. It would be a really short book, since the characters would have psychotic breaks, commit suicide, or get themselves killed pretty fast. Let’s be real, something this story is distinguished for by readers who know things from the real world of planet Earth.
The way the combat vets behave helps the civilians tremendously in developing their coping skills. But the Stupid infected dictate a silly, derivative, done-to-death, knockoff novel, and nothing else is permitted, or else they go whackjob manic in the reviews to such an emotively extreme level that people are analyzing their psych issues. Alas, the psychos are even worse.
They cannot get away with this on most platforms, but Amazon is really strange. By not pulling abusive, propagandizing for ulterior motives, downright lying about objective facts reviews, Amazon believes this is creating more credibility for reviews, when it’s the exact opposite, which growing numbers of shoppers are learning. And Goodreads, owned by Amazon, is a hot mess compared to other platforms similar to it. Hence, the psycho branch of the infected utilizes both to the max for their twisted shits and giggles game playing, knowing that this is Amazon’s policy. Good times!
*FYI: The meaning of a serial is a story with a single continuous plot that unfolds gradually through successive installments, often ending episodes with a cliffhanger to maintain audience engagement.
